RTs in Action!

June 25, 2019
Dear BC Respiratory Therapists
Re: RTs in Action – NRP & Perinatal Services BC
Perinatal Services BC (PSBC) has a provincial advisory committee for the Neonatal Resuscitation Program that includes a respiratory therapist. The purpose of the committee is to:
• Identify and promote current standards of neonatal resuscitation.
• Provide advice and leadership for the planning, implementation, evaluation, and reporting for the NRP in British Columbia.
Michelle Bailon has been a dedicated representative for respiratory therapy at the NRP advisory committee with PSBC. This July, Michelle is stepping down from her role on the advisory committee and Jasmine Mohan has kindly agreed to step into this role.
For those of you who are not familiar with Jasmine, she started her career as a Respiratory Therapist six years ago at Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH). Over the course of her time as an RT at RCH, she has assumed roles such as ICU and NICU core therapist, clinical resource therapist, staff mentor, and NRP instructor. She values that RT’s bring the expertise of ventilation to neonatal resuscitations as this is the most important component of NRP. Jasmine is grateful for the opportunity to care for babies in the same NICU she spent time in as a preemie.
The BCSRT Board of Directors would to thank Michelle and Jasmine for their commitment, passion, and dedication towards excellence in respiratory therapy.
Sincerely,
Zac Hilberry, Director of Member Relations

Danielle McDonagh, Director of Community
Sapan Behar, Director of Finance
